1. What are the strengths and weaknesses of open source versus commercial software?

The strengths and weakness of open source versus commercial software are as follows...Open source is free but requires a professional assistance in order for the program to continue to function.  As new programs are needed to be installed a trained professional will have to manage the software.  Commercial software is user friendly and doesn't require the assistance of a professional to upgrade the software.  
2. When would an open source application take precedence over a commercial product?

Open source application will take precedence over a commercial product when the user doesn't have the capability of having a professional to up keep the software.  Also, if only a thirty day trail is granted, open source may be better for consumers if they are not able to commit to paying monthly fees.

3. What are the issues when choosing between Open Source vs. Commercial Software?  The issues between Open Source vs. Commercial Software are as follows: 
*Does a person have the financial means to upkeep the product.  
*Is the product user friendly?  
*Is the user phone or computer compatible with the product?
