List of Excellent Educational Apps 


Research: Find five instructional web tools that offer a variety of opportunities for learners.  Link to each web tool considered in your blog.

Answer in your blog: What is the intended use for each tool? How might you use each tool in online teaching? How might a student use the tool? Is there a cost associated with the tool?
Pinterest

Pinterest is a great educational sharing tool that offers a visual presentation that emphasizes on bookmarking websites, concepts and ideas. Pinterest is an excellent educational source when searching for visual aids for instruction.   I personally use Pinterest to search for exercise for my students to complete. This app is free.  



Socrative

Socratic utilizes educational toots in conjunction with games.  Socrative has a student version that is excellent for giving formative assessments, exit tickets, and space races.  Students are invited to join the teacher's room by using a code.  Students can also receive grade reports displaying their current level.  Socratic is accessible  via smartphones, laptops, and tablets.  This is a fee app.



Edmodo connects, students, teachers, and families by providing grade, school announcements, educational and behavior updates that are easily accessible via the app.   Teachers are able to encourage positive behavior by using this app in the classroom.  Students and families can view the progress of the student in real time.  This is a free app.


Remind is an excellent resource for keeping in touch with students, teacher, parents, and staff.  Communication is quick and  in real time thus promoting  immediate results.  I personally use this app for school events.  The great thing is once the communication is no longer needed the page can be deleted.  This is an excellent app for keeping in touch with parents and stakeholders.  This is a free app.

 Skype Business

Skype is a Voice-over-IP service  that is an excellent resource for individuals and organizations to collaborate.  It allows one on one contact or group communication via calls, text messaging and video conferencing. It's an excellent tool that provides, visual, and audio aid for the user.  This is a great app for teachers and stakeholders because visual meeting can occur without everyone physically being present in a room.  Student, parents and teachers can meet to discuss class business.  Skype puts the face to the name and creates a more personal meeting experience.  This is a free app.

Create Reflection

A  discussion  about lesson that are most beneficial, strategies to  incorporate , and how each standard has prepared me for  delivering  online  instruction  is provided below.   Standard B, C, -- By exploring  aggregating  and CMS sites that can be used by the educator and learner I feel more comfortable about building a website for the purpose of delivering online instruction.  I plan to use Wix to organize and share apps, and websites.
