Participate Reflection

The participate module helped prepared to meet the standards C, E and J.  For example, standard C involves a hands-on approach to learning.  Various modules were created to show mastery of learning.  The Netiquette assignment allowed me the opportunity to create a poster that can be used for future educational platforms.

Practicing standard E allowed me the opportunity to gather information about safe internet practices and safe website browsing.  Creating a poster displaying safety and security words was a great introduction to understanding safe practices.  Viewing the poster will allow the learner the opportunity to understand that failure to follow rules can and will result in legal accountability.

Last standard J involved reviewing proper internet time usage. A calendar was created to help manage time wisely.    As an educator I learned that I have the tools to create a safe, and nurturing environment via internet.  It is my duty to take the lead by using safe practices thus encouraging and requiring other to follow suite.

The strategies I will take away from the participate module and apply to my teaching are creating digital calendar, sharing reputable digital resources, and Netiquette.  As an health educator I will stress the importance of not overusing the computer.  The calendar will help my students remember the importance of giving themselves frequent breaks.  Understanding the symptoms of device addiction will help student curtail the onset of digital overuse.  Sharing reputable digital resources takes out the guess work for the learner.  Providing safe sites will not only save time but also decrease the chance of the learner contracting a digital virus thus enabling the computer to function leading the unsuccessful completion of a course.  Last, Netiquette is equally important.  Students must understand computer language to ensure that he or she is not offensive when navigating through an online platform.  As always, the cloud lives on forever.

The lessons that involved creating posters and sharing pictures were most beneficial.  Many students are visual learners and I look forward to sharing my work with my students to ensure that they are safe and successful while completing coursework

All pictures used were not created.  The pictures were gathered from the following sites and or devices:  Kahoot, Brainpop, GoNoodle, Apple Phone Calendar

Create Reflection

A  discussion  about lesson that are most beneficial, strategies to  incorporate , and how each standard has prepared me for  delivering  online  instruction  is provided below.   Standard B, C, -- By exploring  aggregating  and CMS sites that can be used by the educator and learner I feel more comfortable about building a website for the purpose of delivering online instruction.  I plan to use Wix to organize and share apps, and websites. It is my goal to expose students to CMS to encourage them to create educational website that can be shared with others.   StudyBlue and Stacks are excellent sources to use because students can review key terms and definitions to prepare for assessments.  I plan to use StudyBlue and Stacks to encourage students to take notes during instruction.   Standard E--To create a safe working environment I will educate my students about  plagiarism and the importanc...
