Create 3 - Fair Use and TEACH Act

Answer in your blog: How might an online or blended classroom teacher use Fair Use when gathering resources for educational purposes?

An online or blended classroom teacher will use Fair Use when gathering resources to ensure that these items can be transferred within an online environment and blended environment.  When transferring information electronically information can be massed shared and transferred more frequently; therefore causing a more vulnerable environment for the original authors.  The teachers has to consider the motive of the material being shared, the the quantity being shared, and the result of using the material. When teachers are considering sharing videos, and printed material Fair Use must be applied to avoid copyright infringement. 

 What observations have you made about Fair Use and the TEACH Act and how has it changed your approach to finding reliable content for your students?

Considering that it is fairly easy to misuse materials it is important to actively search and use information that is safe to share.  I will definitely continue to research Fair Use policy prior to sharing any type of media on an electronic profile to students.  I will share with students the importance of following Fair Use practicing when researching or sharing information to promote a safe learning environment.
