News Letter/Flyer
Why is ongoing communication in the online classroom important? How does the newsletter differ from mandatory communications?

Communication in the online classroom is important because it is the primary method of contact.  It's a convenient form of communication that doesn't compromise anyone's time.  Failure to communicate in the online classroom will effect a student ability to successful complete the course.

A newsletter differs from mandatory communications because it provides updates within the classroom but not necessarily mandatory for the parent to read but greatly encourage.   There's not a check and balance with a newsletter.  There's no way of knowing if the parent read the newsletter.
